For those who have a handsome property portfolio, the ever spiraling cost of houses might be a good thing – but spare a thought for those younger buyers desperately trying to climb onto the property ladder.
New research suggests that a million more young people are likely to be living with their parents over the next decade, with the cost of housing preventing them from moving out and into their own home.

The study by Aviva forecasts that 3.8million people aged 21 to 34 will be living at home by 2025, which is a third more than at the moment.
Likewise, the number of households containing two or more families will rocket, from 1.5 million to 2.2million.
However, Aviva has suggested we should look on the bright side and appreciate the positive aspects of various generations living under one roof.
'Multigenerational living is often seen as a necessity rather than a choice, particularly when adults are forced to move back in with family to help save for long-term goals like buying their own house,' said Lindsey Rix, managing director of personal lines at Aviva UK.

'But rather than being an inconvenience, our report shows it is often a positive experience, with shared living costs reducing financial strain and the added benefit of constant company.'
